King’s Road Store, Chelsea, London.

Birkenstock opened their new store on Chelsea’s iconic King’s Road and it simply had to feature lush greenery. The store was designed with spaces for indoor plant displays as part of its physical structure so that product and plants could sit side by side - connecting customers directly to nature as they tried on their next pairs of favourite footwear.

The built in planting areas were constructed from stainless steel and featured rounded edges to mimic the smooth plaster surrounds.

We designed a clean planting palette to add maximum jungle impact around the store with species including Strelitzia, Ficus, Kentia and Zamioculcas.
